| Abstract | Most contemporary forms of migration create enduring ties across international borders. Migrants’ transnational connections and activities offer both opportunities and challenges for source and destination countries. Conflicting attitudes towards migrant transnationalism can produce serious obstacles for the migration management that policymakers on both sides claim to pursue.
