AbstractThis research examines the life experiences of twenty-one lesbian informants,originating from fifteen different countries now living in Sweden.The main questions guiding this research are: What are the processes that women go through in obtaining consciousness about their lesbian orientation? How do they 'learn' to 'be' lesbians? And within which social contexts do these processes take place?
